Palm Coast Incorporated in 1999, Palm Coast, a planned community near the sea, is experiencing a tremendous influx of young families drawn by the relatively affordable housing and excellent schools. The city offers abundant recreational opportunities on its fresh and saltwater canals, in its parks and along its miles of paths and trails through the forest and along the Intracoastal Waterway. There are golf courses galore and most homes have boat access to the waterways. In fact, it’s hard to find a home anywhere in Palm Coast that’s more than 5 miles from the waterfront.
This residential growth has resulted in a wide variety of shopping, dining and commercial business facilities coming into the area. The Town Center at Palm Coast is a 1,557 acre, mixed-use development that serves as Palm Coast’s downtown. Many Town Center sites have already been purchased by residential, business, medical office and retail commercial developers; the entire development will be anchored by a 425,000 sq. ft. The city’s newest recreation facility is the Indian Trails Sports Complex with four lighted baseball/softball fields, a central concession stand with restrooms, four lighted soccer fields, two covered pavilions with picnic tables and a playground. There is also a city-owned pool that is open for public use, the Frieda Zamba Aquatic Complex and dozens of hard, grass and clay tennis courts. New construction of single family homes, condos, townhouses and duplexes is taking place throughout Palm Coast. There are also a number of luxurious high-end homes in the Hammock Dunes private gated community and at Cinnamon Beach® at Ocean Hammock. Palm Coast Demographics and Community Information |
