The BeachesThe coastal cities of Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach, collectively known as “The Beaches” by locals, are geographically close to Jacksonville but have a distinctly non-urban ambiance. All three have their own municipal governments and charters but are considered part of the city of Jacksonville. The Beaches have always been popular with tourists and are now starting to attract affluent homebuyers who are attracted to the low-key lifestyle, unique shops, restaurants and nightspots.
